Since I've decided on at least the main part of Moth's story line now (read here: https://imgflip.com/i/6s4vdx#com20765620) I think I don't want her to be defined as a proto anymore. Since she technically isn't one I might design a lil custom species (which will be open for anyone to use) to help explain what she is (which is a strange alien creature born of a crystal)
I mainly don't want her to be a protogen for 3 reasons
1. The protogen species is cool af but also kinda limiting. I wanna be able to do certain things with her but at some point it just wont fit in as a protogen
2. I don't want the current mix of 30% cyborg, 70% organic. Moth's storyline would contradict this (90% organic, 10% crystal shards) and also I'm not really a fan of the chest plates and such with her design, but I can't really remove them without her not being a protogen anymore
3. Her lore and the changes I wanna make wouldn't fit in with protogen lore, and I'm getting kinda sick of that limit which is why I wanna change her

My main concern is that it'll look like I'm just making a knock off protogen when that's not really my intention. Moth's still gonna have some proto features (mainly the visor) but that'd tie in with her lore considering she's supposed to be an alien creature abomination sort of thing. So just to be clear I'm not trying to plagiarize protogen at all and when I make the species I'm gonna explain it much more thoroughly
or maybe I'm just going mad- please tell me if it looks like I'm crossing a line since that's not really what I'm trying to do. I'm just trying to be original and flesh out my character without conflicting another specie's lore
