Jesse Pinkman was on the backup crew, along with Jim Lovell and Ken Mattingly. Pinkman was due to fly on Apollo 14, however due to issues involving the original crew of 13 Lovell's crew was moved to 13. Mattingly was replaced with Swigert, and in 1970, Lovell, Swigert, and Pinkman launched. However, they encountered issues on the way to the Moon, and the landing was aborted.
White had hoped for Pinkman to fly with him on Apollo 11 or 17, but this did not happen.
