Yeah it was a tough one
2trees needed to be dropped and cut up including clean up. One of the trees grew up next to a chain link fence but alas got it done
Not to mention the severe weather to deal with... !

Yes you need to be very careful.
It also helps to look up and see what part of the tree has more foliage to determine the angle the tree will go when it begins to fall over.
Then again a tree can be UNPREDICTABLE when dropping

I thought you might like to know that I was taught by my dad, who was taught by my grandfather, how to drop a tree just using a big axe and make it fall precisely where you wanted it to go ... Everytime ! :~)

I've swung an axe a time or two and yeah it wears ya down quick.
Modern day chainsaws are quicker and more proficient

My Grandfather, who was a woodsman all of his life, was born in 1892 - Chainsaw didn't exist then. The same principals he used with an axe are equally valid for the chainsaw and, I agree, it's a lot easier to use.
It's nice to talk people about what they do and I hope this little conversation makes you think about how life is so much easier in the world today. Remember that you are continuing a profession that has gone since the end of the Ice age ... I live in the UK and I have found flint axe heads.
