Unfortunately, some countries are too dangerous to live in due to corrupt governments, war, or a combination of both. (Example: Ukraine, and the Russian invasion) We can't keep them at home, and they won't stay at home, so they are fleeing for a better, safer life for not only them, but their families, and children. And screw passports; if they need to get out, they will enter every other country illegally, just so they can be safe, and wish that they get granted asylum.

Cause it's better here. Tons of third world countries could become decent places to live if there wasn't so much corruption and such.
If we want them to stay at home, we should place serious limits on immigration, or even pause it completely.

Limits don't really prevent them because it's better to be arrested here than caught by a drug gang in their country or killed by a currupt government, poor people here have it better than poor in third world where something like welfare and food stamps don't really exist. We need to give them a reason to want to stay in their own country rather than just saying you can't come here.

I say that from the perspective of an American. There's not really anything I can personally do to make their country more appealing to them. They've got to sort out the corruption in their countries and figure out how to build something good.

Can we encourage our government to help out their countries at all? I notice that when natural disaster hits, often the world governments will come to their aide temporarily such as after a hurricane. Why must we wait for a disaster to happen when they live in a disaster daily?

The issue with foreign aid is that the corrupt governments use the money how they want instead of how it's intended. It'd require a coup to deal with the root of the problem.

For sure, it's a human heart problem not easily solved by free handouts. Our world is such a mess.

Oh boy, i really hope something happens before then. I feel like I'm stuck on a horrible carnival ride. I don't believe in the rapture but it's looking better everyday, 😫

I agree in a way, they need to fight for democracy just as our American forefathers had to. Otherwise we'd still be under the control of foreign nations. Maybe they've just given up hoping they can come here and forget their problems at home. But nations today still fight for and gain independence.
