Funnily, in lore, stormtroopers that went through the acedemic process were some of the most elite, dangerous, loyal soldiers in star wars history, one fireteam of stormtroopers could probably match at least three rebel squads. Their scout atst was so dangerous that it sent the rebel shock trooper/commando girl from mandolorian into a panic.

And that atst was just being used by barbaric raiders, and likely wasent in the best condition.

Empire was no joke. The only thing the rebels would be able to even compete in was shipbuilding,due to the mon-calamari being LEGENDARY ship builders and admirals.

Finally, someone else that knows the lore.

Even then, the rebel fleet was far too small to compete, so even the legendary mon-calamari couldn't even win.

Rebels one because plot armor, and because Vader betrayed palpatine, as he had wanted to for years.
So even if I was going by lore, palps rule was doomed to fail, since Vader would eventually grow tired of him, and palpatine knew it. That's why he didn't address Vader as "my apprentice" by rather "my friend" .
