God is running our universe as a “farm”, a place that maximizes the production of a useful good. That useful good is moral virtue — but the best moral virtue requires suffering. So the universe has lots of suffering. And lots of moral virtue from it. That’s why. And you personally are producing lots of moral virtue…. From all your suffering. But it makes God happy.
