"I can see Luna clearly through the window, Moscow." radioed Popovich. "Very grey, very cratered. Can't see the landing site from this point."

The world now had their eyes on Soyuz 10L, and Leonov and Popovich. The American public couldn't believe it. All this work, a decade's worth, and now the Soviets were going to win anyway. In the Soviet government, after much deliberation, it is decided to broadcast the landing and Leonov's moonwalk on live TV around the world. When Leonov was told of the decision, he said, "Really? Well, better make sure my hair looks good."
