Soyuz 10L was now about halfway to the Moon. Leonov and Popovich both looked out the windows of their spacecraft, toward the Earth. "Comrade Belyavev was right, Earth does look small from here!" Leonov proclaimed. "And it will only get smaller."

Block G of the N1, which had propelled them to the Moon, had now been seperated and sent on a course to solar orbit. Block D would perform lunar orbit insertion and begin the LK lander's descent to the surface. All was looking good.
