Orwell and Me
By Debra Walden Davis. April, 2011
Oh, how I long to be free
The big things are so much easier
It’s the piling up of the little things
That's killing me
So much for, "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff"
My world is full of 'don'ts'
The biggest don't is to teach thinking
Without being a thinker
Don't question, but we will question you
And don't you dare forget it
I am the first to be the scapegoat
I am the last to be believed
I swear I tried to keep my integrity
But in the end, I handed it over
Oh, 'Big Brother', I love you!
