Despite having the durability of a wooden tool, they are much faster than all the other tools. The golden pickaxe’s natural speed means that the efficiency enchantment it much more effective than the enchantment on any other pickaxe, combined that with unbreaking and you have the fastest pickaxe in the game. This combo would also work on the shovel and the sword to make them just as fast. Of course, the hoe is useless as is any hoe made with anything other than wood or stone. I know this doesn’t apply, but I believe that golden armor can make enchantments more effective, but I’m not sure. Oh and one more thing, the gold itself is the only material that can be combined with ancient debris to make netherite and enhance your diamond tools.
