I know there are archives of Imgflip from 2008, but it was from a different owner.
WhoIS data shows that Imgflip was registered as a domain in 2011, meaning that the Imgflip domain's original owner let the domain expire, deleted it, then Imgflip's founder (the meme generator one) bought the domain.
