Never heard of it.

Even though I’m not a fan of Beyoncé’s work, I don’t think “spaz” is terrible enough to warrant the impediment of artist expression. There are lyrics out there that are so much worse.

It’s probably just a publicity stunt.

30 years ago, the word spaz was short for spastic - Another inappropriate word was mong - short for mongrel

It’s kind of ironic that the song is called ‘Renaissance’. Making her change the lyrics seems like a Dark Age maneuver if you ask me.
