Diabetes care

I have type 1 diabetes and sometimes I eat candy to make sure that my sugar does not go low. So technically it’s kinda correct.

So you use insulin for it?
If so tho, that helps.

I do need insulin for meals

And some snacks. Insulin is what a pancreas produces to keep your blood sugar in a stable place. One of my pancreas dont work so I need a insulin pen. And usually you would do finger pokes to know what your sugar is but I use Dexcom. So I can check my sugar on my phone. I’ve had diabetes sense 1st grade and I’m going into 6th just next month. It makes my life so much harder. I can barely play outside for a hour and thirty minutes without needed to drink a juice or have candy. I have missed to many gyms and recesses. Then again when I do need to go to the nurces office I just play tf2 on the computer lol.

I hear ya brotha/sista. I also have T1D. It doesn’t make life that much harder. You just have to remember things and it’ll become a second nature. (Also watch out most middle schools don’t have a full time nurse, or at least the ones I’ve been to don’t. <I’m headed to grade 8>)

Yeah it gets more simple over time yet life will never be the same as it was. I barely got any sleep last night cause of my sugar going low again and again for no reason and I know my parents feel bad because all they can do is do a finger poke and give me juice if I need it. Diabetes is so dumb. The middle school I’m going to usually has 2 nurses I think. So that’s fun.
