AFTER THAT, DRAGON TYPES GOT BETTER MOVES, AND IN GEN 5, DRAGON BECAME THE MOST OP TYPE, UNTIL FAIRY TYPES BEAT IT WITH NEW MOVES IN GEN 6. Dragon types resist water, therefor Blastoise would no longer do much damage to Charizard if it used a water type move. (If I’m correct, that is)

Same with Grass, Dragon resists Grass, making Venusaur even more useless against charizard
