I understand the skulk sensers but the fireflies are literly two pixils and they could just be made into flies or just not eaten by the frogs.

They were cool, and they will come back like everything else. Mojang is helping us practice one of the most amazing skills ever: Patience. I miss the fireflies, but I know they will come back

erm, im not really a veteran, cause yeah, i first play minecraft at least in 2019 or 2020, and i play cracked version, so yeah..., only found out about why they removed fireflies because of a random minecraft article appearing in google news

But they can still add them for the aesthetic can they not?
