The Lore Of Five Nights At Freddy’s Compared To The Bible
Five Nights At Freddy’s, a horror indie game created in 2014 by a man named Scott Cawthon, has had a very successful franchise with over 9 games under its belt, each adding on to the story of the previous one creating quite the impressive lore. If proposed to compare this great feat of storytelling to another, say, the Bible, many would say it's impossible and blasphemous to do so. However, Scott Cawthon himself is a man of the Lord, and despite saying there is no correlation to christisanity in Five Nights at Freddy’s, there are actually many sound comparisons we can draw.

The first comparison we can make isit how a character in the Five Nights At Freddy’s lore, the Crying Child, can be compared to Jesus Christ. Jesus was sent to Earth to spread the word of the Lord and to help people with their problems and to lead them into an after life. The Crying Child’s soul was sent into a puppet animatronic so that he could help other dead children trapped in animatronic suits into the afterlife. Jesus was crucified on the cross for his actions. The Crying Child was crucified in the mouth of a golden animatronic bear by his brother and his friends. Jesus was carried to the cross and crucified by the Romans due to the backstabbing from Judas, someone Jesus considered a friend. These shocking parallels are only the beginning in the comparison.

The next parallel we can make is the parallel of an omniscient voice giving helpful advice towards salvation. In the Bible this voice is none other than God himself. There are many instances in the Bible where God speaks to people, whether through burning bushes or in dreams, he has a way to communicate and give orders to lead people to a better place. In the Five Nights at Freddy’s storyline, this role is played by a character only referred to as Phone Guy. The Phone Guy calls the player to give them advice to survive the night and he hints to the more nefarious intentions behind the animatronics. Comparing the actions of the Phone Guy to that of God in the Bible you can see that they are very similar characters.

Another thing we can expand upon is the comparison of Judas to the Crying Child’s brother. In the story of the Bible, Judas was one of Jesus's disciples, who ended up betraying Jesus for thirty pieces of silver after Jesus had revealed that one of his disciples would betray him. Shortly after
