this, Judas returned to the authorities that he betrayed Jesus to and gave back the silver, claiming, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” They dismissed Judas and turned him away. Upon this action, Judas dropped the silver on the ground and went home to end his life by hanging himself. This sort of story is seen again but in the story of Five Nights. The brother of our character, The Crying Child, is only referred to as “The Brother of the Crying Child,” so he will be named “Bully” from now on. Bully is considered close to the Crying Child, similar in a way to Jesus and Judas. The Crying Child was also aware of his upcoming betrayal, just like Jesus. Bully, along with a group of his friends, brought the Crying Child to a golden animatronic named Fredbear and they put the child's head into the jaw of the animatronic which resulted in the child's skull being crushed by the strength of the animatronic. After this betrayal occurred, Bully was struck with immense guilt, and later in the game is seen trying to repent for what he has done. Judas betrayed someone he could consider his best friend for only 30 silver pieces, however, Bully also had the motive behind his actions. If you replace the silver with popularity amongst his friends the stories line up quite well. Eventually the madness of Bully’s actions drives him crazy, leading him to overdose on sleeping pills ten years after the murder and betrayal of his brother.
A final similarity between these two stories is the presence of an eternal suffering afterlife. In the Bible, the place where sinners who are impure for God’s heaven is called Hell. Hell is run by the devil, and is often credited for punishing those who have strayed from God’s light. In the Five Nights lore, the night shift at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria is quite literally a synonym for Hell. Throughout the games, a night guard is set to watch murderous animatronics roam and try to kill him from 12 AM to 6AM. In some of the games there are also other things attempting to harm the night guard, due to the fact they are often a character with a dark past. However, in the game Ultimate Custom Night, the night shift is taken by William Afton, a man who has taken the lives of many children to try and fill the void in his heart over the death of his daughter Elizabeth Afton. Due to his actions, he is cursed to forever suffer endless nights of constant animatronic onslaught. Even if the animatronics manage to “kill” William, he just comes back
