Firstly, I agree that they are both derogatory terms.
But they're not equally bad. There's a reason people are more comfortable saying “cracker” then “n$%^&ger”.
As we all know, there is a long ass history of where the n-word came from. It was a degrading insult that slave owners used on slaves - solely based off of racism. “Cracker” is a degrading insult that came from the slaves to the slaveowner.
In case you don’t know, it’s called “cracker” because slave owners would crack their whip when they whipped slaves. Crack = cracker. This is saying that the n-word was base off of r a c i s m , while “cracker” was based off of a c t i o n s and true f**king events. There is a difference between an insult, and an insult that has truth behind it.
