Supposedly being gay is a natural thing and not a choice, right? Then let them discover it themselves and they can have discussions with their parents and teachers about it. Obviously, just as they have straight characters in books or movies, I don't see anything wrong with there being LGBTQ characters as well. Both are people obviously. Where do I draw the line? I don't. Teach them about how LGBTQ attraction and s*x work at the same time you would teach them how straight attraction and s*x work. There shouldn't be any difference. People learn about reproduction in high school normally, so if that is taught in high school as well, then let it be thus. Kids start learning about racism and sexism and how people fought back against it in upper elementary school, is that accurate? Then as they progress up the grades the kids learn more of the unpleasant details about their history, if I am not mistaken. Perhaps the LGBTQ rights movement should be taught in the same way. My point is that education on everything is a gradual process based on the maturity and growth of the children, so we shouldn't flood them with everything at once.
