ahahahahha | SO I CAME OUT TO MY MOM YESTERDAY AND SHE'S.. BORDERLINE SUPPORTIVE? SHE SAID SHE WOULD LET ME WEAR BOY'S CLOTHES BUT THAT'S IT. SHE'S NOT USING MY NAME, PRONOUNS, AND SHE'S ABSOLUTELY NOT LETTING ME TELL THE REST OF MY FAMILY. SHE THINKS I'LL GROW OUT OF IT ALTHOUGH I TOLD HER THAT MY DYSPHORIA HAS LASTED SINCE PRESCHOOL... HOW DO I REACH A COMPROMISE WITH HER SO SHE CAN POSSIBLY USE MY CORRECT NAME/PRONOUNS? | image tagged in transgender flag | made w/ Imgflip meme maker

Don't compromise if you aren't in danger and personally I've never known compromise to mitigate hate beyond a single event anyway, so the danger likely comes back. Compromising only reinforces their belief that yhey are some how reasonable and you aren't and it will make chance for violence worse if it's there as violence or threat of violence becomes the haters go to mode to shut you down. Use avoidance until you can move out and safely lay down the law if your parents want to stay involved in your life at all.
