Here, let me help you out in understanding the other side here. Most anti-abortion people can summarize their argument in three words: abortion is murder.
This is never about making the woman's life worse, as some may claim. Nor is it about violating a woman's "reproductive rights," because the murder of an unborn child is not a right.
Once the baby is conceived, it is fair to assume that they are alive, correct? It adapts to the environment, it grows, it is cellular, its DNA is already being designed for heredity, it can gain energy for growing, and it will have the potential to reproduce as a human. All the criteria are met biologically.
Abortion is about ending a pregnancy. However, the developing human in the womb's life is also ended, since it loses homeostasis, growth, and potential to reproduce. The being is deprived of its life, and that is what murder is.
What about rape and incest, you may ask? It is still murder. However, in the case where a woman's life is put in danger and bearing the baby puts her very life at risk, the unborn would be a risk to the woman's health and endangering her. I believe that that would be the only case where abortion is permissible: because (and this feels weird to me even typing it out) it would be killing out of self-defense, in a way.
