You're conflating weight and mass.
100 pounts of something on the surface of Earth will weigh nothing in zero gravity, but will still retain it's mass.

Consider something like a brick.
On Earth it probably weighs around 15-20 lbs.
In space it weighs 0 lbs.
On the moon it would weigh around 3 lbs.
Mass is the amount of 'stuff' the brick is made of. (Atoms or whatever)
Weight changes depending on the gravity of where you are.
Mass always stays the same.

Ohhh, you made it more easier for me to understand! You are smart, not gonna lie. And sorry again for me conflating mass and weight.

That's a pretty heavy brick.
And most bricks aren't heavy compared to that one 24-pack of water bottles that mom always makes their children carry home.
I would know, and so would a lot of people I know who currently have mild brain damage.

IMAGE DESCRIPTION:
IF GRAVITY PUSHES DOWN THINGS AND IT MAKES THEM HEAVY; DOES THAT MEAN 100 POUNDS IS NOT 100 POUNDS IF THERE WERE NO GRAVITY?
