The First Sunday after Easter, Divine Mercy Sunday, used to be called "Low Easter" and the week preceding it was the Octave of Easter before the liturgical reforms of Vatican II. This is part of the Easter season which lasts up until Pentecost Sunday.

Actually the Easter season is over 40 days. Until the ascension and then 9 more days till Pentecost. But yea, we love to drag out the celebrations long beyond 24 hours, lol.
