Sex: Prelude's characters were a lot more fleshed out, not to mention, the final boss had a lot more suspense and higher stakes.

Yes, your points do make a lot of sense, but the storyline for Sex 1 is gold all through.
In Sex: Prelude they practically gave up at the ending AND, you got more choices to change the story in the first.
