Tbh I’m not sure what backstory I’m gonna give this Seawing

Cinder: *flies closer to the Seawing, preparing to attack*

Unknown Skywing: I’m not really sure what changed but now he’s fine… he remembers, at least some of it.

Abyss: *very scared, his injuries look like they’ve been partially healed, the skywing dragonet notices this, and Abyss realizes she had* so uh… hi, I’m Abyss… *clearly very scared* it appears we’ve had a misunderstanding….

Unknown Skywing: misunderstanding my—

???: you washed up in skywing territory, tell me how this is a misunderstanding if you were unconscious.

Abyss: how long…

*the larger skywing kicks him in the head*

Unknown Skywing: HOW ABOUT—

???: STOP HITTING HIM, WE NEED HIM TO BE STABLE SO HE CAN REMEMBER THE INFORMATION WE NEED.

Unknown Skywing: fine.

Abyss: what do ya want?

???: the location of your queen’s palace.

Abyss: *starts laughing* come on, you probably already know I’m not gonna just give you the location of my queen’s palace. The only way I’d do that is if the two sides decide to come meet for a truce in the war. And that’s assuming you can breath underwater for more than an hour.

*he is kicked again*

???: can you not?

Unknown Skywing: he deserves it.

???: we need him alive.

Abyss: oh believe me I am very much alive.

Cinder: *growls* "The Seawings have two palaces. They have to have one above land, don't they? Don't forget, Seawing, that your ally can't breathe underwater."

Abyss: to be honest, I didn’t think any of you would know that.. but hey… good job for catching that I didn’t mention we had two palaces.

???: not really the best dragon to keep secrets are you?

Abyss: not by a long shot.

???: look we have more questions, is your queen planning to invade Skywing territory? Are you a scout? *she knew damn well he wasn’t but asked anyway*

Abyss: me, a scout? Please I can’t even fight a shark, I would be the worst dragon to scout
Skywing territory by myself. And to be completely honest, that depends on how long I’ve been out. Which you still haven’t told me..

???: fine, it’s estimated you’ve been knocked out for around 2 to 3 days.

Abyss: and a lot can happen in 3 days. So wouldn’t really know an answer to that. If I had to guess I would say know. I think our queen would choose the option where the least amount of dragons die.

???: then why did she enter the war on Blister’s side?

Abyss: we were promised treasure if I recall correctly. What did you guys get out of Burn’s deal anyway?

???: … we’ll continue this tomorrow. Who wants first watch?

Unknown Skywing: I already know you don’t trust me with him, *she slams him against the wall again* cause you’ll think I’ll kill him.

???: congratulations, you guessed what I was thinking.

Cinder: "I can take first watch. You two can manage patrols while I'm here."

*the other skywings leave, the dragonet was arguing with the other dragon*

Abyss: so how’s the skywing kingdom under Scarlet’s rule?

Cinder: "You have no right to that information, Seawing."

Abyss: it was just a simple question, I would gain no information my Queen needed whatsoever. *you could tell he wanted to ask more questions but he figured it wasn’t really a good idea*

Cinder: *walking back and forth*

Abyss: so… what do you think you’ll be doing after the war?

Cinder: *shrugs*

*the two Skywings walk inside, after they reach the end of the cave, they set the seawing down*

???: anyone got any idea when he’s gonna wake up?

Unknown Skywing: we can’t wait forever.

Cinder: "I'll be right back." *leaves and comes back with a bucket of seawater, dumping it on the Seawing*

*the Seawing wakes up a few seconds later… when he realizes he was taken hostage by a few Skywings, he starts panicking*

Unknown Skywing: *they begin growling*

*the skywing dragonet thinks she recognizes the seawing*

Cinder: "Do you know this dragon?"

???: he looks familiar but I can’t place where or why…

*the seawing starts to talk again*

Abyss: what do you want from me?! Why am I here?!

*the larger skywing slams the seawing up against the wall*

Unknown Skywing: quit your whining. Your going to tell us what you know. Now we’re the ones asking the questions. Now, where is your queen’s secret palace?

Abyss: I DON’T KNOW!

???: what do you mean you don’t know? Your a seawing!

Abyss: LOOK THE LAST THING I REMEMBER IS I WAS ATTACKED ON AN ISLAND OK? BY SKYWINGS. *you can tell he’s angry but too scared to do anything*

???: wait a minute… what did you say?

Abyss: I DON’T REMEMBER WHERE THE PALACE IS IS WHAT I’M SAYING. EVEN IF I DID, WHY WOULD I TELL YOU? I DON’T EVEN REMEMBER WHAT I DID YESTERDAY IF YOU REALLY WANTED TO KNOW. *he’s having trouble speaking, like he had a concussion or something*

???: Guard him for a second… Cinder can you come with me? *she walks out of earshot of the seawing*

Cinder: "Yeah?"

???: I know where he’s from, I took a few skywings to capture an island we could use as a forward base. Unfortunately we found him and a few other seawings on the island, I thought I killed him but it turns out I just gave him some brain damage instead. We ended up retreating when reinforcements came, so I dumped him in the ocean. Guess I’m lucky he ended up here and not at the seawing palace.

Cinder: "Brain damage, huh? Well, that would make him the most useless prisoner ever."

???: might as well release him, or wait until he remembers. Both aren’t good options, plus I get the feeling he isn’t a normal seawing.

*shouting from inside*

Unknown Skywing: HEY GUYS, HE’S FINE NOW!

???: what? Come on. *she walks back into the cave*

Cinder: "What do you mean, he's fine?"

*the skywing dragonet picks up the ring first*

???: remember when he was talking about being an animus? Was he actually talking about himself, did he just tell us he was an animus? *they then pick up the note he left*

Cinder: *looks at it* "Horrible writing."

???: you can clearly tell he wrote this in less than a minute..

*the note read: if you are reading this, it’s probably because I already left. Anyways, I have an obligation to protect my queen, as do you with yours. And I’m assuming you’ve connected the dots and found out I’m an animus. However, I don’t think magic should be used as a weapon, no do I wish to be used as a weapon. That’s a pretty quick way to lose your soul. I try to refrain from using magic that hurts others but in some cases you don’t really have a choice. If any queen knows, then I will really have no choice in how I use my magic. The ring that I left should heal your scars from your battles. I just felt bad ok? Use it well, it won’t heal more serious wounds though. If you see the map, I’ve ruled out several islands as to where our hidden palaces are. However, if you picked this note up this means that you will not be able to view it and it will in fact disintegrate. If you picked up the map, the ring and this note would have disappeared. ???: [redacted]! THAT SMART SON OF A SEAWING!

*you look at the burning map as it disintegrates into ash*

*the seawing seemed to be unconscious, you could already tell something wasn’t right about them either*

Cinder: *lands next to the Seawing*

*there is no reaction, the seawing really is unconscious, they don’t seem to have too many injuries, although it does look like they have been in combat. They may have been trying to defend themselves from something but they must have been quickly knocked out and assumed to be dead.*

*you see two more Skywings approaching*

Cinder: *waits*

*the two skywings land*

???: I thought I saw a seawing wash up on shore.

Unknown Skywing: looks dead to me.

???: nope, just unconscious. Was he awake when you got here? *talking to Cinder*

Cinder: "Nope. Should we take him back and interrogate him?"

???: probably a good idea. Not all the way to Queen Scarlet though. She’ll probably lock him up in the arena before we get a chance to ask questions.

Unknown Skywing: she might not, but there is a cave nearby… we could take him there.

???: might be too close to the ocean… we can’t risk him getting killed in the arena though, what do you think?

Cinder: "...I say we take him to the cave up the mountain a bit. It's a short flight, but far enough from the ocean."

???: hm… yeah thats a good idea.

Unknown Skywing: I’ll carry him. *the larger skywing picks up the seawing* Let’s go.

*the three of you lift off, the skywing dragonet flies under the larger dragon incase the seawing falls*

Cinder: *leads them to the cave*

Abyss: we don’t actually know how smart they are since we’ve never studied them. But then again, who has the time to study them right now? My biggest fear is that this war will go on indefinitely and we may accidentally kill almost all of the dragons, leaving the rest of them to be killed by the scavengers… they appear to be smart enough to make their own weapons and kill other dragons, hence Queen Oasis’s death and the start of this war was supposedly caused by three scavengers. So here is a better question: why should we study these creatures that appear to be smarter than most other animals? Not smarter than us of course.

???: you really don’t know when to shut up.

Abyss: your right I don’t. *they laugh*

???: *the dragonet facepalms* Three moons, you are the dumbest seawing I’ve ever met. I almost feel sorry for you.

Cinder: "Oasis was weak." *sighs* "And not being quiet when you're asked to, that can be punished." *whacks him in the side of the head with her tail*

Abyss: ok, you’ve made your point. *he stays quiet now. Occasionally checking to see if he can make it to the cave exit. He is stopped by the dragonet multiple times.*

???: sit down. You aren’t going anywhere.

Cinder: *thinking*

???: Abyss, go get some rest, or else you’ll be too tired to be questioned tomorrow. I don’t think you want to know what the punishment is for not answering them, especially not to me.

*Abyss keeps his mouth shut and pretends to go to sleep*

???: three moons, all the other tribes just make it so easy to hate them.

Cinder: *nods* "So, are we going to take him to Queen Scarlet tomorrow?"

???: don’t plan on it, we need him to give us information, as much as we can get out of him. If he know’s we’re just going to take him to the arena, he won’t say anything. He’s smarter than sounds and looks, I think he’s just buying himself time.

Abyss: why don’t—

???: SHUT UP SEA SLUG. *they take a second to calm down before taking Cinder to the front of the cave, they speak in a low voice* As much as you want to see him die, we need him alive. If he knows there is no chance at him escaping or leaving this kingdom alive, he might either kill himself at the worst or not tell us at best. It would be really unfortunate if he ended up being one of those Talons of Peace idiots.

Cinder: "True."

???: *you both walk back in the cave* alright, let’s just let him know that—where did he go?!

*he was gone, you found a ring and a note on the ground, there was also another scroll on the ground, it looked like a map*

???: Cinder, guard the entrance, he might still be here and we just can’t see him.

Cinder: *nods*

Abyss: well, I guess I’ll never see an end to the war considering how things are going. I always thought this war was bad and we didn’t really need it to happen.

Cinder: "That is traitorous speaking."

Abyss: is it? I am not from a tribe in which prisoners have to fight in an arena just to keep living until the next day under false claims that they are fighting for their freedom. So I guess you guys have to be more uptight about what you say and when you say it. You already have it far worse than me. I can only imagine what your prisoners of war are going through.

Cinder: *growls* "It surprises me your queen didn't get rid of you already. Then again, she's said to be quite soft for a queen."

Abyss: at least my queen isn’t a psychopath. Even if the rest of the queens think she’s too soft. I just wish so many dragons and dragonets weren’t dying for a cause some barely even understand. I want to ask you one more question, if that’s ok with you.

Cinder: "Fine. Since you'll probably ask anyway."

Abyss: *considering all of the consequences of asking, against his better judgement he asked anyway* what would you do if you were an animus dragon?

Cinder: "Animus Skywings are supposed to be killed before they're old enough to hurt anyone...But I don't know. I'd probably win the war and then, well, I'd love to see the rest of the world. There has to be more than one continent, right?"

Abyss: I would try to save as many dragons as I can, even if they are not from my tribe. And about that continent, maybe there is, maybe there isn’t.

???: *the dragonet walks in* Abyss, you appear to have barely as much intelligence as a scavenger. You’re lucky we’re not killing you now.

Abyss: I suppose normal dragons are supposed to take that as an insult.

Cinder: "Because it is."
