they were a very large shark species that lived in warm waters near the surface
already that completely disproves the idea that they just live really deap down in unexplored areas because pressure is a thing and it's really cold down there
in addition it's not a filter feeder so it would need to hunt prey in the really deep down there is no prey to hunt because almost nothing lives there in places like the maraina trench which is a popular spot for people to speculate about
in addition there is a very large lack of food sources for it since there is only a handful of species large enough for it to sustain itself with a diet of and if they were eating them then we'd be able to notice since we track these species to learn more about them in fact the whole reason they died in the first place was a lack of food sources and they resorted to cannibalism which dropped their numbers even more
so if they were alive they would be living near the surface in warm water in an area with large food sources and with all that combined it makes it basically impossible for it to exist and no one ever having seen one
