Reagan to Gorbachev: "Tear down that wall." . . .
..Trump to Putin, "Let's make Russia great again, and rebuild the walls.". . . . . . . . . . . . . . .What too few realize is that Russia's Pres Putin arose out of the old-school, Soviet-era and political agenda, having established himself as a high-ranking KGB agent for over a decade-and-a-half, before leaving that Soviet-era org to pursue a political career. ................................... What had been the previous, Reagan-era. mid-1980s restructuring, the rejection of Soviet-era alienation and hostility, then- Pres Gorbachev "glasnost"--their advanced rejection of Soviet-era hostility and anti-US perspectives, and with that '' perestroika" effort to be an inclusive and progressive remolded, kinder-and-gentler nation. But Pres Putin has RETURNED Russia to that pre-glasnost standing, rolled-back the advancements and openness, re-established that previous- rejected hostile and threatening approach, and his fascist dictatorial rule is in play now, and with fake elections, war-startng and supporting, and larger war-mongering hostility now back to being Russia's zeitgeist, and USSR-Soviet isolationism and nationalism now back to being par-for-the-course.
