well actually putin is doing this because he has been so boring lately NOT invading other countries. he does not wast to go down as the lamest dictator in russian history. look at Stalin, Lenin, even khrushchev. putin looks like a meme compared to them. that's part of the reason he is invading Ukraine. tha other is a complicated history involving NATO and national borders, petroleum, and a desire to bring back the soviet union
