Yeah, there's a lot of overconfidence paired with under-competence in the world. Like some of the worst drivers you know thinking that they're great at driving. And the Dunning-Kruger Effect applies to everyone, everywhere, all of the time, and across all areas of knowledge, expertise, skill, etc. Even "emotional intelligence" and "intuition".

There's a quote attributed to Charles Bukowski: “The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts, while the stupid ones are full of confidence.” Or a similar one attributed to Bertrand Russell: "The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts." Or another similar one from Charles Darwin: “Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge." Or as Shakespeare Wrote: "A fool thinks himself to be wise, but a wise man knows himself to be a fool."

Or in other words, the average person thinks they're above average. And the below average person thinks they're even more above average. We're all stupid, but only some of us are smart enough to know it. We're all ignorant, but only some of us know enough to know it. But the upshot is that anyone can keep learning and growing as a person until they've built up enough self-confidence to stand up to the overconfidence of the under-competent.
