When simply lambasting the rich would expose their collectivist intentions too plainly, the euphemism of "income inequality" is used in its place. To be sure, there is a societal ill that contributes to income inequality. However, naming a problem by its secondary and not-necessarily negative effects would be like calling the obesity epidemic the "waist size inequality".
