“On 30 November 2021, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that an expansion of NATO's presence in Ukraine, especially the deployment of any long-range missiles capable of striking Russian cities or missile defence systems similar to those in Romania and Poland, would be a "red line" issue for Russia. Putin asked U.S. President Joe Biden for legal guarantees that NATO would not expand eastward or put "weapons systems that threaten us in close vicinity to Russian territory."

Biden then spent the next 3 months begging Putin to start a war...

Nope... it's the same thing as the Cuban missile crisis... Only Kennedy didn't get past the bay of pigs.

Anyone who thinks Ukraine is comparable to Cuba clearly doesn't know their history. Here's the difference. In 1994 Ukraine (at the rest of the world's insistence) gave up 1,900 strategic warheads, 176 intercontinental ballistic missile. About 1/3 of the world's nukes. They gave then to Russia and in return they were promised via the Budapest Memorandum of Security Assurances. It is a political agreement between Ukraine, Russia, the U.K., and the U.S.

According to the memorandum, signatories Russia, the U.S., and the U.K. agreed to respect the “independence and sovereignty and existing borders of Ukraine” after the country agreed to give up its nuclear stockpile. Ukraine was also promised that its territorial integrity and political independence will be maintained and that the signatories will not use economic coercion against Ukraine to their own advantage.

Comparing it to Cuba is a propaganda tactic to justify his illegal invasion of Crimea in 2014, and now illegal invasion of Ukraine. Don't give him the satisfaction of justifying his tyranny.

No I'm not saying we should enter this but Ukraine is the victim here.

Clearly, the Biden regime and NATO didn't keep their end of the bargain...

What is this imaginary Bargain you say Biden had with Putin? Anything written down on paper? NO.

Imaginary?

your words...

It is a political agreement between Ukraine, Russia, the U.K., and the U.S.

What is the agreement called, and Where's the signed document?

So what you said didn't happen?

I'm saying that there wasn't any signed document that prevents nations from joining Nato, or the EU. It wasn't discussed with Gorbachev, Yeltsin, or Putin. If you don't believe me, research for yourself. That was the first thing I researched when I heard Putin spouting this crap.

I guess you missed what he said publicly last November...

In the case of Cuba, Castro was a hostile thug murdering his own citizens, and made threats against the US several times. Nothing like that in Ukraine.

And besides that, there was no treaty with Cuba, unlike what is happening in Ukraine.

Yes... the very same rhetoric was used to justify US actions in numerous countries in the past. Chile.. Yemen... Libya... Egypt... Iraq... to name a few...

“The western world believes that it has a monopoly on what constitutes ‘political truth’ and that their ideological worldview is the only correct, valid and authoritative one,”

While I don't agree with the US doing that, I will point out that not one of those actions of the US with those countries threatened Russia in any way. Guess again.

So killing Russians in Syria doesn't count?
