You fight as or alongside him in the first 2 Black ops. He becomes your friend, but in black ops 2 you have to kill him. There is actually a secret option not many people know about, and it's to shoot him in the leg instead of the head, he'll still die though, just not to your hand

it is so sad, I loved Mason. I'm glad the second time I played it his death wasn't by my hand. He still dies, you can't prevent it

Yeah, the greatest part about BO2 that everyone LOVED was that the outcome is determined by your choices in-game. It's kind of like one of those books where you have different storylines depending on your choices. The best idea ever implemented in a CoD game

well, that depends on who it is. If it's a follower definitely, if it's an acquaintance maybe, but it does depend because I see my services as a two way deal. But yeah. If I help someone with something I usually expect something back. Followers have a free pass because they gave me a follow, acquaintances sometimes are nice enough to deserve it, but it really is something that is a trade-off.
