well, you just need three things:
1. Anger or another reason
2. inspiration
3. Rhythm
So pretty much, you dont NEED to rhyme, you just need rhythm. Though rhyming is a good way to keep rhythm. So like, here:
You can try to choke me out, can’t smoke me now
Don’t care what you think, I’m breaking this link
Cutting all ties, yeah, I’m doing all right
I’m tired of trying to be you, not anymore
Because it’s about time
That you realized I’m not fine
Maybe you should've seen the signs
‘Cause now I’m writing lines, making rhymes
Tryna show you that its my time, ay, this aint a crime
Stop acting like it is, what, I cant hurt you like you hurt me?
Wish you could see, guess I'm too stuck up in my defeat
Thats a verse from my song: "Letdown".
With the anger part, it doesnt have to be anger, thats just how it is with me. Ya know, family issues, trust issues, fears, abandonment, etc. Or just flat out backstabbing friends, that works too, especially with me. That entire VERSE was based of the following emotions. Most rappers, like me (im not published but i do write) had a bad childhood or mental stuff, but you dont NEED to have that, however it is good fuel.
Then for the rhymes, its like "Maybe you shouldve seen the SIGNS 'cause now im writing LINES, making RHYMES, ay, this aint a CRIME".
Most of the time with me, it kinda flows out with what ive wanted to say, so this is kinda calming for me, in a way you could say (bam one right there). Its not a born talent. I got inspired by NF, because its not about finishing every line with a swear, its about being honest. Hope this helps btw, enjoy :)
