The actual reaction is 2•H2O2 -> 2•H2O + O2.
Hydrogen peroxide becomes water and the spare oxygen atoms make O2.
If you add soup, it traps the O2 in tiny bubbles.
If you add a catalyst, the reaction goes super fast, exploding into elephant toothpaste.
