the thing about spontaneous generation is that scientists have been so desperate to believe it that they push it into an unprovable field every time it gets disproven

for example, when it was disproven for living things they said microorganisms could spontaneously generate, even though those had just been discovered 10 seconds ago. when it was disproven in 1859, that very year, an idea was published suggesting that it happened in the past, where we’ll never be able to prove it because we ain’t seen the past
