Based on the wording I'd say you'd have to wait until after the election to switch streams, but a stream isn't equivalent to a party so you could still represent the superstraight stream but be in another party or be independent.

That would last until the election is called, because the SS stream belongs to Incognito. I could create my own "stream" but I don't have but a handful of followers that could get it off the ground. And elect myself to represent it? lol. I'm not sure if it's supposed to work that way.

Ha yea different stream, just noticed they cleared out 10 mods so was going to find a new stream for you to mod and represent. Was mod there on my last acc and they had 900 followers
