Newson nodded.
“What’s Project LAZARUS?”
“What do you think?”
Newson thought back to his Sunday school days, when he learned that Jesus brought a man called Lazarus back to life...then he thought about mixing SCP-008 with sedatives...
“Are you trying to bring people back from the dead?”
The older, wiser Researcher shushed him, putting a finger to his lips.
“You said it, not me.”
“How long has this been around?” Newson asked, wondering what the future could hold if man could live forever.
“1957, commissioned by then-Head Researcher Alphonse Debroux. It’s been put on hold quite a bit, mainly because the 05 Council have voiced concerns over the overpopulation side of it. Ultimately, we decided to just use the Lazarus Serum on certain people. We were going to use it with SCP-217, to make people close to indestructible as well, but...”
Maximoff trailed off, gazing at a nearby wall. Now, he and his underling were standing together in solemn silence. Newson had completely forgotten about SCP-217's theft until Doctor Maximoff had brought it up. He began to wonder what would happen if the Chaos Insurgency let the sample loose. How would the Foundation even contain something like that?
