well sometimes people are being masochists and that's not ok
but in some countries women have no rights at all, and even here our rights are constantly violated
for example, i have many female friends who want to be entrepreneurs and forge their own paths in the world, but their parents are trying to force them into stay-at-home motherhood
in 7th grade, i had to take a business course where i would be taught by an AI system. one day, there was a lesson on proper attire for any job. not just corporate jobs and stuff, other jobs too. it asks if my sex is male or female, and since there were no other options other than male, i put female. the rest of the lesson said that pants should never be allowed for girls, and that it must always be a skirt or dress, and the shoes must be flat closed toe sandals. it also said that if we wear a shirt it must be a blouse, and that hair must always be in a neat bun. there was a part where you dress up women in different professions, and i got to the part on principals. all the female principals i'd met usually dressed somewhere in between formal and casual. so i put pants, tennis shoes, and a shirt on her, and it said incorrect, and then proceeded to show me the same woman wearing shoes that you definitely couldn't walk around in a school all day in, a short skirt, and a flowered blouse.
although this perception of women needs to change, our society is sexist to other genders too.
men who wear even slightly feminine clothing are harassing and treated as scum, and showing emotions is also a taboo. i had a friend when i was little who would get yelled at by his dad any time he said or did anything "girly." he was grounded once for calling something "pretty"
so yeah, sexism and fake victims both suck ass
