How about neither of those? A government is supposed to ensure the well-being of its own citizens. That's its job. No country is meant to be the world's police. Mass third-world illegal immigration worsens the living conditions in the West, so the government should take steps to prevent that.
So yes, this isn't about me; it's about my country, civilisation, culture, and people.
