Well, no disrespect, but do you actually want the syllabus to be set by a whole bunch of people who didn't actually do that well in school themselves? I can't be the first to tell you that you don't need a college degree to become a parent.
I have no problem with the teacher's union running the schools as long a people can freely leave the system and take their education dollars with them, The Kids and the money are not the property of the school system and the teachers unions.
