A falchion actually makes a lot of sense contextually, it was a favorite of medieval foot soldiers and knights

I'd say Alan's only issue is the vibrant shades of the magic he's wielding
like it looks like its meant to be elemental so you might want to tone it down, maybe use the flame color presets
