Google ‘when was American Football created?’

Yeah, we don't care.
We call it "American football" so Europeans don't ask our opinion on Ronaldo, after we say we love football. Lol.

As a Brit myself I have to agree with AlezJensen’s comment because it would be confusing, imagine if I (British) went to America and said “I’m gonna go watch a game of football wanna come with me” they would think I was talking about their football when I was talking about our football…

So they would get excited about going to American football when in reality I was going to to “soccer”.

You call it football because you don't live in America. Us Americans call it Football because we live in America. There's a difference
