LET'S GOO!!! This is a great question and I've given this a fair amount of thought XD
My educated guess is that Qanon is fake, and is being used as a psyop against the right in 2 ways:
1) "Trust the plan" motivates people to NOT really do anything and is freaking retarded
2) There's some stuff that Qanon says that I do think is true, or at least partially true. I think the point of Q might be to mix the truths/half-truths with stuff that's so crazy, that eventually people who might have first believed Q will eventually decide that everything they say is crap, and that nothing could be true. For instance, there's the thing about the Rothschilds and all (if you don't know, the Rothschilds are supposedly Jewish bankers that are running the world behind the scenes). I don't believe they exist, but at the same time, I can see the real-world issues with the federal reserve and how banking is done on a national scale. But people might think I'm crazy for wanting to address those issues and stuff cause it sounds like Q. There's this guy I watch that sometimes sounds like he believes in Q, and it was a little concerning for me, but he's also disavowed Q multiple times, and like me, believes it's a psyop. So if that's the point, then it's definitely working.
And like, maybe at one point it was real. If the guy is supposedly in the CIA, who's to say they didn't catch him and the CIA has been using his platform (Q) since then.
Or maybe it really has been the CIA the whole time and they've been malevolently using it the whole time.
Or maybe it's some other organization or group of people. I think it at least has to be a group because I doubt it could've gotten so popular with just 1 person running it.
But that's just speculation and whichever one of those it is, I don't think it really matters.
But yeah, Q is full of crap and it makes anything that sounds remotely like it sound crazy too, even if it's not.
