I literally mentioned that they were putting Cap’s shield on the Statue of Liberty and that’s what Yelena meant by “new and improved Statue of Liberty” in the car on the way to see NHW and my dad literally went “Thanks I didn’t know that I told you I didn’t want spoilers!” And I was just like “THEY SHOWED IT IN THE FREAKING TRAILER IT’S NOT A HUGE SECRET!!!!” “Well I haven’t seen the trailer.” 🤦🏼‍♀️

I watched all the Hawkeye episodes except #6 before the rest of my family and right after episode 4 I had this theory but I couldn’t share it with them until after they saw it so when they did I started to talk about my theory and my dad somehow thought I’d give spoilers. Like I know I don’t have the best track record when it comes to spoilers but I mean come on!!! How would I somehow give spoilers when nothing else had been released yet! I would only know as much as anyone else it’s not like I somehow have access to knowledge that only the people in charge know!!! He said “you watch all these videos of people speculating about it” and I’m just like “YES BUT THAT’S ALL IT IS!! SPECULATION!!! AGAIN THEY ONLY KNOW WHAT WE KNOW THEY DON’T HAVE SPECIAL ACCESS TO INFORMATION EITHER!!” I talked with him about it yesterday and he literally said “they’re making all these speculations about it what are they making them on?” Oh I don’t know maybe the episodes that have already been released and past Marvel stuff as well!!! What in order to make theories we have to have some knowledge that nobody else has access to or something? I honestly don’t understand it at all. He acted similarly when I mentioned noticing the Lizard being punched by an invisible force in the NWH trailer and that was AFTER we watched NWH. He said “but would you have noticed it if you hadn’t watched all these videos where someone pointed it out?” So what if that’s true? Again they are only going off the same stuff that every other freaking person had to go off on. So what if someone else pointed it out? It was included in the trailer. Anyone could have noticed it. And there is literally no harm in pointing it out to someone who didn’t. Again it’s not like they had some secret special knowledge about it. It’s times like this when I don’t understand my dad.

Replace Hawkeye with Spider-man and some people watching it with the entirety of the internet and that's me. Unfortunately it hasn't worked to well.
