WHAT IS THE TAOIST (OR, DAOIST) BRANCH OF BUDDHISM ALL ABOUT? [6 of 6] In God’s creation, there is no Taoist-type balance between good and evil. First Peter 5:8 says the devil is like a lion that wonders around roaring. And Colossians 2:15 explains that Jesus whooped lion-like Lucifer when Christ died on the cross to glorify God and save all creation. One of my seminary instructors gave a perfect, biblical description of modern-day Satan, since he was wrecked by Jesus: He said, though the devil can still cause serious harm on earth, he is a defanged lion; Christ easily crushed his claim on our world. So, for today’s Christians, Lucifer is like a starving, declawed, toothless lion, dragging around his emaciated little body, trying to frighten people into doing what he says, but only managing to loudly smack his gums.
What reaction would you have if you saw that coming at you? Would you run, or would you tell that rat-headed liar to scram. Non-Christians face the same old lethal devil, but we who have the authority of Christ’s name wield His power over all evil. Bringing that back to the teachings of Taoism, a Christian’s wonderful life and amazing eternal future—spent with the Creator of the universe—is not what Taoists have; instead, their yin-and-yang mentality (“the force” in Star Wars) has them equating evil with God—which is ludicrous. Still, unfortunate people around the world (now including vast numbers of Westerners and even Christians) have accepted the Buddhist, Taoist, Star Wars mindset. Today, all those people are living a life of running scared, even though God has assured us of these facts: "I am God. Beside me, there is no other,” and “Greater is He [the Holy Spirit, or Spirit of Christ] that is in you [Christians]
than he [the evil spirit of the Antichrist] that is in this world.”
Praise God that we Christians never need to run scared!
