A uphine is a species where a person is born with a detail, like bunny or wolf ears, that you can tell they are not human, and every time they die they are soon reborn, often taking the place of another newborn that would have been born instead, and when they are born again they loose a bit of thier humanity, it starts off with thier looks, but can soon turn to feelings or instincts, they keep thier memories between births, the only way they can stay dead is if the death is self inflicted
