It's how a normal virus operates.

A flu shot, fine, but I don't know any one of them that requires monthly boosters in the off-chance hope of actually working.

yea, I would not do anything monthly that is way too much. Yearly though, I would be fine with.

first thing to combat variants is to close our borders. It doesn't matter how many shots you take if 3rd world countries keep breeding variants that the shots won't be as effective against.

sooner or later there will be a variant that is going to be deadly , or become air born or both. Stopping immigration into America is the first thing in securing our people from the pandemic. Making boosters one after the other is never going to end the pandemic. Getting everyone vaccinated is a good thing, but this is something we have to fight from multiple angles to defeat it. Vaccinations, social distancing , stopping immigration into America , and closing our borders to 3rd world countries - after 6 months it would be gone.

I somewhat agree with you. Yes, we can't have our borders open willy nilly. But, we can have strict travel rules for foreign countries. If somebody wants to come to the US, they have to be fully vaccinated and test negative within a day of travel.

just so you know - omicron got through the strict travel restrictions, if we truly want to end this, we have to isolate , not just America, every country needs to end travel for a set period of time , This is not a permanent measure - just long enough to stop the spread of variants.

I know I am going to take flak for this, but I agree. 4 years ago I caught the flu and it put me in the hospital , ever since that I get my flu shot, last year I caught the flu and I was over it in 4 days. I am a hard core conservative as you probably know, but I am way pro vaccination. Science is how we will stop these things in their tracks.

I'm glad you got over both occurrences and I'm not giving you flak.

Annual flu shots have always been a curiosity to me. "The flu" is an ever-changing family of viruses. That's why there are years with kick-your-ass flu and years with wussy-flu. Virologists try to guess which strains are due for a comeback each year, and tailor the annual fly shot to predictions. Some years they quess right, others they are way off. Thats why some years it seems like everyone gets sick despite the shot. The CDC and medical community used to openly admit this. Society accepted it.

The lack of this type of transparency with regards to Corona is baffling. I cannot stand the "shut up and stop questioning us" attitude. I've declined the injections for religious reasons anyway.
