I have a theory for Ash being so dumb and the first episode of the pokémon indigo League series ash it shocked by Pikachu that professor oak had and normally that's enough electricity to kill someone and I think that that actually killed Ash because because he forgets most of he forgets a lot of stuff and he's really dumb when it comes to Pokemon knowledge and he forgets his past companions like Serena and stuff so this proves that he died and he's taking over this though and as a spirit he's taking over his dead body and trying to relearn all the knowledge of Pokemon
