I mean I can understand that transgender is harder to understand because cisgender people don’t have any feelings about it. Love at least everyone experiences. However the response isn’t to disregard someone as valid, it’s to research about it so you DO understand it. I would have thought that learning about LGB would have taught people that sometimes a little research goes a long way to understanding things.

Exactly! I can't believe people actually claim to be "allies", and then just diss out on a whole ass part of the community. I mean, sure, it can be a bit difficult to understand if you feel comfortable in your own body, but a little research (along with an open mind/heart) can be a huge benefit not only to yourself, but the community, too. Besides, the best allies are the ones who are what they say they are: allies - not the fake ones who hate half of the community just because they can't "relate" to that part of the community. I bet that, if you swapped the body a cis person is in, they'd be stressed over it, too. You just have to put yourself in other people's shoes sometimes, no matter how tight or how big those shoes may be for you.

It’s not hard either, there are TONS of educative material on YouTube that I used to understand the trans half of LGBTQ. The animated shorts that showed me how it felt and jammidodger talking about what it’s like really helped me understand. I will admit I was uncertain about the transgender side of the LGBTQ community when I first joined as a straight ally, but I didn’t fix that by being a bigot I worked hard to understand it and now I do. I feel like the LGBTQ community has made me a better person overall, because it taught me to meet things I don’t understand with openness and research if on my own. If something you don’t understand is real, you can seriously hurt someone by doubting it right out of the bat.

To say the least, I am very glad and inspired to have heard your story. It's always nice to have such a strong, willing ally in the community.
And I agree; being able to understand even the most complex things does nothing more than strengthen your mind, open your heart, and allow you to be more reasonable and logical. No harm ever done. Besides, just pushing stuff away is what causes harm; keeps your heart in chains; puts you in a shell. It makes life less enjoyable, as you can't understand others or know how to befriend them, and then they won't feel comfortable around you, and that's *never* a nice feeling.
After all, life is all about making changes, and some of the best changes are to your own views and beliefs, as pushing your own bias aside in order to actually understand fellow human beings truly is an uplifting experience.
Now, due to my own upbringing, I was kind of shunned into seeing the community as "bad", but I've since grown out of that and, ever since becoming a part of this community myself, I've been feeling better than ever. Sure, my family sucks, but the community feels like home. It celebrates our differences, instead of locking them away and making us all bland replicas of one another. It truly is an amazing journey to go through, and I'm glad to have travelled this path in life. Besides, there's nothing else much like it, as everything else feels like it's trying to force you to fit into society's "norms", and who would want that? Why, it would only drive me insane. I have to live with a family who likes to live by those norms and, boy oh boy, it already drives me insane as is.

Well, for Christians, I found the answer. God wants us to continue our bloodline. Asexuals and homosexuals can’t have children, therefore, god doesn’t want them to exist
0 ups, 3y
Is that so? Gosh, I really don't get what some people's problems are, and it's so frustrating. I mean, I even *live* with a homophobic father, but I still don't understand his point of view. He, to back up his shitty views, even says things related to what you're saying, like, "Well, if *everybody* were gay, no new people could be born." And, to that, it's like, "Not too much of a bad thing considering how hectic the human population is growing, thus ruining the world with pollution and deforestation and everything else. Additionally, that just means more kids can be adopted, therefore meaning that homeless kids and orphans can get loving families instead of just pushing more people into the world while others go without loving homes. Not only that, but if you're going to be homophobic *just* because gay people can't reproduce, you're also basically saying that *anybody* who can't reproduce isn't worth anything. For example, a straight woman may not be able to reproduce due to health issues, and you wouldn't be against her, would you? But you're against gay people? I really don't see any logic behind their thoughts, and with ever-improving technology, advancements can even be made to have people of the same sex to be able to have children together anyways. I've read somewhere that the bone marrow from humans can be made into male reproductive cells, thus meaning lesbians can still have children with each other via the proper surgery to do the whole bone marrow thing and all. Additionally, gay mean *can* reproduce, too, via a surrogate mother." I can't believe my dad went to college for four years, but still can't understand concepts as simple as that. It's a shame, honestly. And not even other people seem to understand such a simplicity either smh 🤦‍♂️

Yeah- People just don't make sense smh 🤦‍♂️
It's just disgusting that people seem to be such sex-addicts that they actually target and hate asexuals. Like, why does it even matter to you??? It literally doesn't affect you in any way or manner, so mind your own f**king business, yeah? If somebody not wanting to have sex pisses you off that much, I think *you're* the one with the issue. Absolutely abhorrent.

*Nobody* gets to be half-supported here; *Only* fully-supported. The "allies" who claim to be such things, and yet don't support every letter of our LGBTQ+ Community, are not true allies. You still have all the support in the world from our true allies, don't worry <333 You are still loved, accepted, and valid. Never change, friend <3

So, the kids who sit in the back offered me a seat, so I took it. Right from the start (even though I had talked to them before and said that I'm not a girl) they were referring to me with she/her.
About halfway through the drive on of the guys started saying that some girl had a crush on me. She started saying "Aye, don't go saying that shit I ain't gay!". After that I told him to please stop saying those things and that I was dating someone. Then the girl said "Ooh, you got a boyfriend? Who is he?" I told her "No, I have a girlfriend."
After I said that everyone in the back was quiet. She then proceeded to say "OH... You a freak!"
And nobody talked to me after that.

I'm sorry I didn't get to respond sooner, as I was really busy for a while, but-
I'm really sorry that people treat you that way. Never be afraid to speak up for yourself though. Put hoes like that back in their place. You're stronger than you think; you just have to find that inner strength, you know? As for now, just know that they're some worthless bitches who want attention. Try and talk to a trusted adult about this, perhaps?

No problem, friend. And I'm happy to hear that you've been seeking help! Never stop trying, because even though so many people seem like they don't care, trust me; there are so, *so* many other people out there who *do* care and who *genuinely* want to help. They can just be a little difficult to find, and that's why you should never give up hope in seeking help. Best of luck, amigo o(* ̄▽ ̄*)ブ
