Why should a baby that has prematurely exited the mother's womb have more worth or humanity than an overdue baby that is just days away from exiting the mother's womb? Humans are alive from the point of conception, because from the point the sperm cell fertilises the egg cell to create a zygote, the unique DNA that makes you who you are is already present. That is the first stage of human life and development, so to have an abortion at any point is to take a human life. This is murder, with only one exception; when there is undeniable scientific proof that the mother will die if the pregnancy continues. Then, and only then, can abortion be considered somewhat justifiable; because in that scenario you are taking one life to save another. But right now an overwhelming majority of abortions are occurring simply because the mother doesn't feel like having a child for personal or financial reasons (and in many cases because she is being pressured into having an abortion by a parent, boyfriend, or husband). Decisions like that need to be made in the bedroom. You can either wear a condom, or preferably just not have sex in the first place (since as a Traditional Catholic I find the use of condoms morally questionable because I believe sex should only ever be done with the intention of having a child). I am also opposed to abortion in cases of rape because no one gets to decide the circumstances under which they are born. A baby conceived from a rape has just as much worth as a baby conceived from consensual intercourse. Abortions can also be avoided shortly after a rape through the use morning-after pills that can prevent conception from ever occurring in the first place; because sperm and egg cells that haven't combined are not human (although I also dislike morning-after pills for the same reason I dislike condoms). Being pro-life doesn't end after birth, which is why I also support providing free morning-after pills to women who have been raped, increased funding to orphanages, and having schools teach teenagers about the benefits of abstinence instead of encouraging birth control.
